Turn on NAS without spinning up HDD

    Is it possible to configure OMV2 at power on to not spin up the HDD?


    I have installed OMV2 on a banana pi. The HDD is configured to spin down after some minutes for power saving and live time extending.
    I would prefer that the HDD does not spin up at power on because it often happens that the first attach to it occurs much later. So the HDD spins up for nothing every day i switch the NAS on.


    The NAS works only as backup server at the moment so that it is used only a few minutes a day.

    Nope, cause is not an issue within OMV. The BIOS (or (U)EFI) starts the disks on boot ... preventing that is not possible unless your BIOS supports this option (never seen).
