Cant connect to cifs shares

    Hi All,


    I hope you can help Iv been banging my head against a brick wall for 2 weeks now.


    I have a share and have 2 users that can access it the first user cant connect at all, the second user can fine, this is from a Win7 client its the same across 2 or 3 windows clients.


    All i keep getting is bad/username password error on the windows box.


    I have checked the smb.conf and the permissions are identical for both users, however 1 works and the other doesnt.


    I have deleted the faulty user and setup again but am getting no joy.


    Any tips for me would be grateful.

    Double check your ACL settings. The proper way is to have a group to be allowed to read/write in ACL, then add those users to that group. Avoid applying permissions per user unless absolutely needed. That way you don't need to worry about individual permissions.
