Here is your problem. I have no idea what you installed from deb-multimedia but it has caused a lot of problems in the past. You don't need the backports line anymore because it is added by OMV itself now. I would remove the launchpad repos until the system is fixed. Unfortunately, just removing repos alone won't fix the problem. You need to remove the package probably from deb-multimedia that is too old.

Post the output of: dpkg -S libssl.so

  • Well, I decided to do a clean install to a spare HDD instead of messing with an installation that have been upgraded over the last three years all the way from 1.x.

Half an hour in total, and my raid volume mounted perfectly and ten minutes later my shares and users was defined, and everything working as it should.

Thanks a lot for the help, even if the solution eluded us.

It must have been a corrupted file or something. While I like to find the answer, a fresh reinstall is always nice :)

  • I know, nagging me not to find the culprit, but there are limits on patience:-) And when removing some deb-multimedia packages, openmediavault was thrown out as a dependency, i felt that "hmm....this could be interesting to keep stable in the future....."

Also, I had an quite old kernel and after three years, it made sense t clean up a little anyway.
