Use the WebUI. There you'll get listed the disks used to create the RAID.
-
in WebUI I looking for the information but I don't try it.
Can help me and you tell me where I looking for ... -
Go to 'Storage | RAID Management'. Your RAID should be listed there. You'll see all slaves in the 'Devices' column. Additional selecting the row and pressing 'Detail' will show you more details about your RAID device.

did you create the Raid 5 Array with OMV ?
IN OMV Webgui, you have on the left :
Storage
- Storage/Physical Disks
- Storage/ S.M.A.R.T.
- Storage/Raid Management
- Storage/ File Systems
1st, look in Physical Disks to see you HDDs
2nd, check Raid Managment to see your array or create it.
3nd, create a volume with your Raid Arrayi think i am not really far from the truth

how do you get these informations ?
ssh ? webgui ?
Usually, when you format a disk, you use a tool to format it, and a specific option to precise what kind of format you want, EXT3, EXT4, NTFS (Windows), FAT32 (lol), HSF+ (MacOS).
On above screens , you can see the choosen file systems. You can also see the Array, and the partition.these screens have been took from OMV webgui.

If you created the RAID with OMV WebUI the slave devices do not have partition. The md device is used to hold the file system. maybe you should read about how MD linux devices work, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mdadm.

Sorry, my previous post was print from WebUI
In Storage > File System is only show the system disk ... RAID5 disks not.
in Storage > RAID is show only the RAID system /dev/md0
Because I am not the RAID disk list in the Storage > File System !!! -
ok.
when i run 1st time OMV, i create a raid 5 array. Then i went to File systems module, and i click on create button, i could see what kind of Device i would use, and then i chose the File System Partition (in my case, ext4).
So this is the reason why i can see both, md0 and sde1 (see on my pics). But you, what is your story ? do you want to start from scratch ? how did the datas went on your HDDs ? do you migrate ? is it your system ?

I install OMV 3 and I create RAID5 array.
Because of problems I reinstalled OMV3.
Now I have the situation about I link snapshots and I show you
If it is too complicated I can delete RAID5 array and recreate it -
maybe it is the way to follow, but i don't know about your exisiting datas.
Just to be sure, before reinstalling OMV3, did you backup all your datas?Connected by ssh, id/pwd.
run this:
you should have some folders.
mine has a big name, with letters and numbers. Take its name. Go into this folder and see your datas/shared folders. If ok. By FTP or rsync, backup and then delete all raid/array/volume and re-create all you system.
to be sure having a clean system. -
No backup, no data important on RAID5
I reinstalled OMV3 on /dev/sdd and RAID5 was already ready from first installation.
Now, there is a way to enter /dev/md0 in table in Storage > File system or not ?
IF not ... I destroy and create again RAID5 array -
i am too newbie with OMV (not in raid), so i can't answer to your question. If i were you, i will try, and if nothing works, unplug all drives, delete partition with gparted or equal, and restart from scratch and properly your NAS.
I learn a lot with reading here and testing on my microserv gen8. OMV is great.
did you post something about your issues when you had troubles, before reinstall OMV 3.x ? -
Reinstall because it corrupt by fault system disk ... now reinstall RAID5
-
i am pretty sure that exists a solution with "mdadm" which is the software to manage software Raid. but experts have to participate here.
-
It is very simple, I had not make Storage > File System > Create
Sorry
Now all OK -
Hello, is it solved now ?
If yes, good for youJaqen multi-faces
