New installation omv3, can't get ipadr

  • Hello!

    Have setup a New openmediavault Version 3.0.36, everything goes ok during installation. It reboots and I can login, and try running omv-firstaid, set static ip, and it looks like it goes ok, no error occour.

    But can't login wia webgui to the ip, or can't ping the ip either.

    How to solve??

    Why didn't you use the 3.0.58 iso? It has a much newer kernel that may fix the issue.

    omv 8.0.10-2 synchrony | 6.17 proxmox kernel

    plugins :: omvextrasorg 8.0.2 | kvm 8.0.5 | compose 8.1.3 | cterm 8.0 | borgbackup 8.1.4 | cputemp 8.0 | mergerfs 8.0 | scripts 8.0.1 | writecache 8.1

    What does ifconfig say

    Good point. Just because the login screen doesn't show an IP, doesn't mean it doesn't have an IP.

  • I used the 3.0.36 because that was the only one With i386.iso to download............

    If I run the ifconfig, it doesn't show any eth0 only lo

    link encap: Local Loopback
    inet addr: 127.0.0.1 mask 255.0.0.0
    ......

  • Try more times, and now I got the following error after running omv-firstaid and set a static ipadr;

    Configuring network interface. Please wait ... ERROR: address6: The value '' is not a string

    Read on the net that this is a bug, but how to update so I can get a newer Version?? As I told earlier I can't find any newer Version for i386

  • What CPU are you using that make you think you need an i386 version of OMV?

    A backup strategy is worthless unless you have a verified to work by testing restore strategy.
