Thanks for your reply! I know that its version 4 of omv-extras. Since I had the same problem with version 3, I uploaded version 4 just for the sake of trying. Now it seems that I cant go back: even if I upload version 3, there is always only version 4 that I can choose from

1. Is there any other way to install the plex plugin other than via omv extras?
2. Is there any way to delete version 4 from the plugins-List? I just cant go back to version 3

If you remove the omv-extras 4.x version, it should install fine the normal way.

Follow the command line install method here. After it is installed, click apt clean in omv-extras in the web interface.

Sigh... thanks. Rebuilding my server after a power outage last night resulted in a complete failure in my old server.
Is it broken for 4.x as well, or just 3? If it's working in 4, i'll download a new ISO to my server and start over.

Possibly both since they are both hosted by bintray.
So all we can do is wait for a fix then?
You can disable the repos having issues in omv-extras, download the plugin you want from bintray (and possibly additional packages), and install them from the command line or upload to the web interface. This is all I am going to say on this topic.
After reinstalling omv i was finally able to install omv-extras and also activate plex repo. problem is: while other omv-extras plugins get fetched in the plugins section..the plex-plugin STILL doesnt appear

You could always install it via Docker, using the Docker CE plugin instead of the plex plugin.

Just tried in a VM and it is working. In plugins I find openmediavault-plexmediaserver. Did you try the "Check" button?
