UPS Identifer pattern

    • Official Post

Why OMV4 prohibits capital letters for UPS identifer pattern ?

It has been that way back to OMV 0.5 (and maybe earlier). It might have something to do with rrdcache. Not really sure. Why do you need capital letters?

just because when I upgrade my servers this make a error because i named my UPS with capital letters in OMV1,2,3

Like I said before, the code hasn't changed. Here is the code: https://github.com/openmediava…in/service/nut/Nut.js#L27 and https://github.com/openmediava…/admin/service/nut/Nut.js

Not sure how you were able to use upper case letters on OMV 1.x-3.x. You could change the name before upgrading.

  • Ok, thanks
just to inform you about that : all of my 5 servers omv <=3.x use upper case letters for UPS identifier. This is the first time I see this pattern limitation with 4.x
