virtualbox has been running well on my biostar a68n-5600 integrated board for months, recently when I try to log into my virtual machine I get no video output on VNC. I’ve tried autoremoving virtualbox, creating a new virtual machine & the VNC display issue is persistent. Has anyone else experienced similar issues? Does anyone know of a solve?

I have the same problem but no idea

Spent all day messing with the same problem. Cannot use console in phpVirtualbox, Remmina, or TightVNC. I can ping the VM and access its shares via Samba so it is running normally.
This all happened after updating the VM and the Host before a restart of the server.
Also tried creating a new VM to make sure it was not an issue with this specific guest and got the same result.

I found this:
https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/18153
It looks like the fix for this issue, but have not tested as I do not know how to apply the patch.
I can eventually figure it out, but if anybody can explain or provide a link on how to apply a patch like this it would be very appreciated. Thanks

Thanks! I'll look into it when I get home

You would have to recompile the package to apply this patch.

I have posted the problem to the debian-backports mailing-list.
We will see how fast it will get to the backport repository.Or, as ryecoaaron suggestet, you must recompile the packet by your own...

So I’ve been trying to find the ConsoleImpl.cpp file to patch & I can’t for the life of me find it in the plugin version of VBox.

As I posted in the other thread about this, I built the packages and put them here - http://omv-extras.org/testing/vb/

Oh nice, thanks. So if I understand correctly I upload those packages to the plugin installer after having removed the existing virtualbox install?
