changing / switching the boot drive from USB Stick to USB > adapter > SSD

I Have a HP ProLiant MicroServer Gen8 with OMV4
i wanto to change the SLC USB stick to an SSD with a simple cable adapter.
any experience with that?
any other solution for SSD adapting as a boot drive?
how can i copy the USB stick to the SSD (also as a backup) ?

any links?

no clone or copy recomended.

recomended way is to do a fresh install and configure services by hand.

PD: be sure that SSD boot on desired SATA connector ( HP SATA 5 have some historical problems to boot from it unless to use hached BIOS).

thats why i want to use USB > adapter > SSD.

no clone or copy ... a lot of work, does OMV find the Raid?

do you have any links to a "how to" ?

sorry not enough experience on cloning boot devices to respond, but there are lots of post on forums, and experience appears to be strange.

best of all is that if your clone do not work, still you can boot from original USB, so you can do several tries until it works as expected.
