SSH not properly working

  • Hello

I have installed OMV 4 on a RockPro64 and try to connect to it with SSH. It only works with Shell in a box but not with native SSH software from my Ubuntu computer.

Can anyone help me, please? The credentials I use are 100% correct.

I thank you in advance for your help.

  • Honestly, that defies logic. You're doing something wrong. What happens on the Ubuntu computer when you try to connect.

Air Conditioners are a lot like PC's... They work great until you open Windows.

  • OK, just out of sheer curiosity, I just installed shellinabox and confirmed a user must be in SSH group to use shellinabox. So if shellinabox is working, then it is something on the client side you're doing wrong.

I'm assuming you're entering your username and password right.

Are you entering the correct line in the prompt to use the SSH client?

    ssh username@serverip

Are you getting an error when you do that? If so, what is the error? Do you have OpenSSH client installed on your Ubuntu box? I don't think Ubuntu installs that by default, but I've not used Ubuntu in a while...

    sudo apt-get install openssh-client

Assuming it installs.. after it completes try to SSH your NAS again.

If shellinabox is working properly with the same user.. then there is about a 99% chance this is issue is on the client side.
