will Orange Pi 3 with 4xUSB3.0 ports be supported?

  • Orange pi 3 was released on Jan 2019, new board comes with gigabit network and 4xUSB3.0 ports and seems perfect as small NAS.

Moreover, the manufacturer also provide the vision with 8GB emmc, which is much more faster and durable than SD card.

Just wondering if openmediavault has a schedule to make the image for orange pi

Nope since that's not what's happening anyway. Once Allwinner H6 boards are supported by Armbian (stable and not WiP) you can always run OMV on them since OMV is just a Debian add-on. No idea whether I or someone else will create an OMV image without the need to install OMV on top of Debian.

BTW: H6 is rather uninteresting for a NAS since PCIe isn't working and USB3 performance isn't great either. All USB3 ports on the specific board are behind an internal USB3 hub and as such share bandwidth and bus contention issues.

Edit: USB3 storage especially with USB3-A receptacles can be considered worst storage implementation possible.

    how about rock pi 4?

There is an armbian stretch image for it which means you can install OMV 4.x but it is still a beta image.
