Simplest way to sync files between OMV instances

  • Alright cool. I was like OH Man what did I do!?

Hey, one other question, sorry, is there a way to see what speed it is running at?

    Machine 1 is 10Gb NIC

    Machine 2 is 10Gb NIC

    Switch Between is 10Gb

Under Glances, it is showing like 2.5Mb xfer

Any better way to see my transfer speeds?

ethtool will show you the speed.

RX says 2.8Gb/s TX says 2.5Mb/s

If that is the system receiving the files, that is good.

In a 10G LAN Network, where does 2.5Gb xfer speed fit in?

rsync is just copying files. So, the source is sending and the destination is receiving. Very little traffic is going the other way. RX is receiving and TX is sending. If the destination RX is 2.5Gb, then the destination is receiving files at 2.5Gbps. It isn't saturating 10gbps but the speed might be limited by your storage speed.
