OMV 4.X Raspi 3+ to Raspi 4. Raspi don`t boot

  • Hello, I hope you can help me.I have OMV4 running on a Raspi 3+. Now I want to switch to the Raspi 4 2GB.The Raspi 4 does not boot with the SD card out of the 3+.I think it's the kernel, but how can I swap or update it?I have run on a 2nd SD card with new OMV4 image on the Raspi 4.What's the best way to proceed?

  • Ok, so there is no way to update the kernel without rebuilding everything ...?So I ask, because I also have iobroker and an Alexa Media Server running on the same system, which I would also need to rebuild ...So if that does not work with the kernel, I still have a DD backup of OMV. Can I restore this to the new Raspi, or will the kernel be downgraded here as well? and if so how do I restore a backup I created via OMV Backup Plugin?

TBH I've lost the plot with what you trying to achieve, the new Pi image will work on the Pi4 my understanding is that it is the same as the previous image with some minor tweaks.

So to put the SD Card from your Pi3 + into your Pi4 will simply not work, so download the new image flash a new SD Card and insert into your Pi4.

  • ?I have already run the new image on a new SD card on the new Pi4 ....But how do I get the old system, which runs on the Pi3 + now without everything (iobroker, Alexa Media Server, ipcammanager, omv) reconfigure on the PI4 to run? That's my question...

  • New system, new configuration, it's a start again there is no short cut.

    Ok clear.
But... Of i have an HDD full o data installed on the pi3, I have simply to connect to new pi4 and recreate the shares? No data will be lost?
I have also need to reset permission and acl, right?

Yes that's all the data is still on the drive, before toy do this just make a note of the shares you have created on the Pi3 and then it will be easier to replicate.

I have also need to reset permission and acl,

Yes because you will be setting up the shares within the new install.
