hi guys, i'm a newbie.
I'm using version 4.1.26-1 (Arrakis).
I wanted to know how I can set the automatic switch-on to a specific time and of course I would also like to set the automatic switch-off.
who of you has time to help me?
automatic switch-on and switch-off

- OMV 4.x
- nicovon

you can use cron to switch off and WOL to switch ON.
( Or use BIOS to configure switch ON).
-
-
-
Power management -> scheduled works.
-
Thanks a lot. So I don't need the autoshutdown plugin?
-
If I wanted to turn off omv, every day at the same time (let's say at 15:00). Show me how to set up? I have doubts..
-
-
And above all, I'm interested in knowing how to turn on omv every day (except Sunday) always at the same time. To achieve this, must there be a device turned on, in the same network?

You need to enter on your BIOS and configure the wake up event https://smallbusiness.chron.co…-time-computer-54644.html
or configure WOL and wake from your desktop when you want remotely: https://www.pcactual.com/notic…erta-funcion-wake--2_3390

Thank you very much, now I no longer have any doubts, just a question: what then is the utility of the autoshutdown plugin?

I set it this way: https://imgur.com/KiMlkuk
but on Sunday I would like omv to stay off. -

With the autoshutdown plugin you have much more possibilities to shutdown the system (or to prevent a shutdown) than with the scheduled job above. There are options to check for active IP addresses, network traffic, disk IO, active jobs and so on. So it´s more or less a shutdown on request.

sorry, your BIOS is very simple and do not permit this option.
please consider to use WOL to poweron when you decide.

can I do this? ie can I set the shutdown at 7.40am only on Sunday, while all the other days of the week turn off at 15.00pm? -
One option would be to use rtcwake. You would have to create several scheduled jobs which are executed at different times. The job would shut down the server at a specific time and wake the server at another time.
For examples of rtcwake have a look here:
https://www.ostechnix.com/auto…m-sleep-hibernation-mode/rtcwake -m off -t "$(date -d 'next friday 12:08:00' '+%s')"
If you run this command as scheduled job for example every Thursday at 20:00 it will shut down your server and wake it next Friday at 12:08. -

I would like to put my HC2s also to sleep over night. I am able to switch them off and wake them up with the rtcwake. But the only mode I can get them waking up again is a complete shutdown. The modes suspend / mem / disk are not working in my environment.
Is there a work around in order to put them to suspend and then waking it up again. I'd rather have a running system right away if woken up and I am a bit reluctant to decrypt the hdd always via the OMV interface

If you spin down the drive, the HC2 will use less than 5W. In Germany that is around 1€ per month. Lets say you can save around 1/3 by switching it off it is around 0.3€ per month.
I am looking very much in saving (electrical) energy, but in this case ....

Okay, you finally got me there... Then I will rather not mess around with it any longer, leave it be and only switch them off completely when really needed...

Since you have a very low power board you may want to put the drive(s) to sleep, which is probably the major source of energy consumption.

Correct. The drives spin down when there is no activity and that's the case overnight anyway.
