How install (skin, or interface) kde on openmediavault

  • hello to all. Before I begin, I prefer to tell you that I am French and, since I am not fluent in English at all, I am obliged to use an online translator. and something else, I am totally beginner with Linux. I would like to know how to install web interface kde on openmediavault 4. If you can, try to use the simple language. Thanks

  • Bon jour @monsieur N, bienvenue sur le forum.

I think this is not possible. But you can install Debian first and then install OMV manually on top as explained in the docs: Installation on Debian
But also in this case it is not recommended to install a graphical environment.

    A+

    OMV 3.0.100 (Gray style)
    ASRock Rack C2550D4I C0-stepping - 16GB ECC - 6x WD RED 3TB (ZFS 2x3 Striped RaidZ1)- Fractal Design Node 304

  • Everybody say that but can you explain me why it's not recommended ?

Sorry, but I never installed OMV this way or had a similar request.
Maybe someone else may chime in.

  • It is not recommended because desktop environments can change important configurations (especially networking) that make conflict with OMV. They also mount drives automatically that will not work with OMV. There are many threads about this.
