I am using Plex via docker but for some reason docker seems to be unable to access my media folder using common unix sgid permissions.
In my setup there are several users supposed to access media folder and so I created a dedicated group "mediaAdmins" which is the directory group and set chmod g+s. That works for all users except for my dockerUser. dockerUser is member of groups users and mediaAdmins but for some reason only users privileges are granted. Changing the primary group to mediaAdmin is no option for me since that would affect file access at other places.
Only setting ACL permissions to grant general media access to dockerUser worked for me so far. But I wonder why the sgid permission is not working as expected for dockerUser. I would feel better to ger rid of ACL stuff. Any ideas?
