Just got a HP T5745 thin client with 3 gig RAM and a 1 gig IDE DOM. The PCIe expansion is due in later this week, same for a PCIe eSATA card. I also have an older (USB 2 instead of 3 along with SATA and FireWire) Newertech Guardian MAXimus RAID1 box for two 3.5" SATA drives up to 6TB.
Is one gig enough space for OMV? Does it need more RAM?
The goal is to have a box that does nothing but put out a folder visible to my Samsung Smart TV so the TV can play videos from it just like it does from a USB drive plugged directly into the TV. I want to be able to push video files to the thin client from a computer elsewhere on the LAN.
This can be done with Windows sharing but I'm not wanting to have a full Windows box on the LAN doing nothing but that.
