Abnormal file system behavior after new disk installation

Hey you bunch of helpful people.

Yesterday I’ve installed a new WD RED in my HC2. I’ve put a new HDD and connected the old thru USB to move old files. Upon disconnection of the old drive from USB everything went tits up so I did a clean install, I presume because old drive had some system files.

Everything ran smoothly until now when I plugged in the now formatted old drive to the HC2. All of a sudden, the internal drive became sdb1 and is unmounted. There is also a missing file system shows up in the File System, please see the screenshot.

Also attaching screens of logs because I am certain this is related.

Ideas are appreciated

Actually all it takes for the new HDD to get unmounted and have a Missing status is a reboot. I've done another clean install. After a reboot I get the same picture.

ok, I think I figured it out and some searching around. Just switched off everything under Physical Disk Properties (hdparm) and it seems to be all good.
