AFP prevents applying changes - The state 'afp' does not exist

  • I currently can't apply any configuration changes due to the error:

    Code
Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; omv-salt deploy run afp 2>&1' with exit code '100': ERROR: The state 'afp' does not exist

    Code
    omv-salt deploy run afp
ERROR: The state 'afp' does not exist

I was on open media 5.4.0 and updated to 5.4.6 but the error still exists.

I think the error exists since I upgraded to 5.x some weeks ago but I didn't want to change anything.

    Reboot didn't help.

The strange thing is, that the Dashboard says: AFP is enabled and running, but I can't disable it due to the error.

  • You're right, I've still netatalk installed.

I've just followed the steps of RE: OMV 5.0 - finally out! :-) in the version of the 21st April.

If I try to uninstall it using the UI, I'll get the following errors:

  • I've tried to uninstall shellinabox too, it reported the same netatalk error but disappeared in the UI but in the grep report from above it sill exists.

How can I force the uninstall the outdated plugins?

You can not uninstall them anymore because commands that are required to do so are not available in OMV5 anymore. I fear you have to reinstall your system, except you know how to uninstall broken Debian packages. Please use Google to find hints how to do that. It's too complicated to explain it here.

  • If someone else find this thread via a search engine (like me):

    ╰─➤ touch /usr/bin/omv-mkconf

    ╰─➤ chmod +x /usr/bin/omv-mkconf

    And then:

    ╰─➤ dpkg --purge openmediavault-netatalk

    works.

It might be a good idea to remove the file afterwards :)

This only happens when openmediavault is upgraded before removing the netatalk plugin. That is why one of the first things the upgrade script does is remove the netatalk plugin - https://github.com/OpenMediaVa…ob/master/upgrade4to5#L29
