I am having problems installing ZFS plugin on OMV5. Lots of error messages at the end.
I use the Plugin well on OMV4 on another server.
Any ideas? Has the plugin been ported yet?
thank you!

Have you installed the proxmox kernel and made it the default
No. Is it mandatory?
I thought ZFS would also work with normal Kernels now.

I tested it on VM and got a number of errors, removed the plugin installed proxmox then reinstalled the plugin and it installed without error.
ok - will try that.
thanks!

Hope, ZFS is possible in OMV5 too. Then I might switch to OMV5 in the near future. Unfortunately, the known restrictions of the plugin remain.
I cannot find the Proxmox Kernel in OMV5.
It used to be under OMV-Extras but not there anymore.
Any ideas?
In OMV-Extras do you see the Kernel Tab? It's in there.
Ah. Is it possible that Proxmox Kernel is not available for ARM based processors (Raspberry Pi)?

I'm going to have to start asking more pertinent question I think
Note to self ask user 'are you using an sbc'

Seems to be a distinct possibility
You may want to describe your hardware platform in a posting signature.
Has anyone tried out MDADM installation via command line instead of OMV GUI?
I thought mdadm was a core component of OMV.

On an sbc, may I wish you every success and commiserations when one of the drives 'disappears'
The Pi4 HW is very stable.
And even if it 'disappears', why would it be worse than a drive failure on any other server platform?
why would it be worse than a drive failure on any other server platform
It wouldn't, the issue is the stability of USB that is why it was disabled for raid use.
It may have been an issue in the past. But a HD on USB3 with separate power supply is really no greater risk than a HD in a PC.
Is there a way to enable the GUI functionality? I know that the restriction is not on MDADM level.
