Reset IP address

  • As most forum members on here know , I am not an accomplished OMV individual. Thus - rather elementary questions.

I am setting up a new Asus RT-AC3200 router. I want to use a different router IP subnet than I have been up until now. Rather than two digits for my third octet, I am wanting to change to 3 digits. The subnet mask will remain at 255.255.255.0

Do I need to go inside the WEBUI to do anything or will my router automatically find the OMV5 server?

    Thanks, Kai

Current OMV5.3.4-1 OPERATING ENVIRONMENT: ASRock AB350Pro4 Mobo, AMD A8-9600 Bristol Ridge Quad-Core 3.1 GHz, 16GB Ram, Kingston A400 120GB SSD, WD Blue 4TB HDD

Backup OMV5 OPERATING ENVIRONMENT: Windows 10 Pro 64bit (always latest build) Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 8GB ram; OMV 5.0-amd64 Linux Debian running virtual via VirtualBox v5.2.22
DATA Backup - Two sets of identical backups using GoodSync 1-way backup onto 2 external drives.

  • Set the desired network specification in the router and enable DHCP service.

In OMV System | Network | Interfaces select your interface and verify DHCP is set as the method used to obtain an address.

Reboot router and wait for it to be fully up. Then reboot OMV.
