My new homeserver

  • I just upgraded my Server...

I wanted a clean install of OMV5, and so I thought I use a little newer Hardwareto set up a completely new Server.

    It's now an intel i3-7100, 3.9GHz (2 cores/4threads) with 8GB RAM and a 256GB System-SSD (NVME).

It also has 6 SATA-Ports, so I can hook up a lot of storage. So far I just threw in the old Storage-HDDs, so it uses 3x4TB, 1x3TB and 3x2TB HDDs in a SnapRAID-Configuration with 2x4TB Parity and the rest in an unionfilesystem with about 13GB of usable storage. 3 HDDs are connected via USB3, so I still have SATA-ports to connect the next two drives...

I installed Plex on the machine and moved the 70GB Library from my old Server to the new one, so none of my Meta-Data got messed up. Now I only need nginx and JDownloader to be installed via Docker...

That'S something new to me, but I'll get it running...

Anyway, that's my new OMV5-Server. So far it runs great!

    OpenMediaVault 4
    AMD Phenom 2.3GHz, 6GB DDR2-RAM
    Internal (2TB+2TB+3TB) + External (2TB+1TB+4TB+4TB) = 9TB SnapRAID with 2x4TB Parity
