Intel Pro1000 card not recognised

  • Hi all

So I've been playing with OMV for the last couple of weeks.

1 issue I'm having is with my network card.

My motherboard has a built in LAN port which works fine however I'd like to get my dual NIC card working so i can aggregate the link.

The interfaces that get brought from up "ip -a" in SSH are confusing me:

1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP,LOWER_UP> mtu 65536 qdisc noqueue state UNKNOWN group default qlen 1000

    Any ideas?

I've installed OMV extras and done the proxmox kernal updates.

  • If i do a "LSPCI" it is not showing my card, only the inbuilt:

This is the problem. Hardware related there are no pcie cards attached according lspci, that card is one of the most generic intel stuff works out of the box.

Shut the server off, take the card out and re-seat it properly.

  • is there anything that could cause it not to recognise at the hardware level?

The card use to work fine but i guess its possible I've fried it with static while rebuilding.

I've removed it a couple of times and tried it in different PCIe slots, still nothing.

If there's nothing else anyone can think of I'll try it in a friends server and see if it recognises in one of his.
