StuM OMV NAS

  • Hello, friends.

A couple of days ago I wondered to make a private cloud, then I found a Techno Dad Life and DB Tech videos. And now I have an “idea fix” to make my OMV nas-server)).

In my closet gathering dust (my planned configuration):

    asus z270-a prime \ celeron G \ 4GB RAM \ drivers:

    - samsung ssd-sata 128gb

    - 2x 2TB (software omv raid-1)

    - 1x 1TB

    I have a first question.

1 - How do I ensure OS drive (ssd128gb) recovery?

    2 - Can recovering a OS drive (ssd 128gb) damage a software raid (2x 2TB) ?

    PS. sorry for my english.

    Not sure what you mean.

If you want to (re-)install OMV on that ssd, it is safest to disconnect the data drives during the installation.

After the installation shut down the server and reconnect the data drives. During next boot the raid should be autodetected.
