Hello,

I am new to OMV : I have installed OMV 5.3.9 last week on a HPE Microsever Gen10 (1x SSD for OVM install + 4 HDD Seagate Ironwolf) The install went smoothly, without any problem.

Once installed I created a RAID 1 array including 2 HDD and after that I wanted to create another file system on one of the remaining HDD and got following message : "mkfs fails complaining that: “/dev/sde is apparently in use by the system; will not make a filesystem here"

Before posting, i have searched in this forum and also in others. I found a similar problem and tried following procedure to clear it

# ls /dev/sde* that displayed /dev/sde /dev/sde1

# sfdisk --delete /dev/sde

# sfdisk --list /dev/sde

# ls /dev/sde* that displayed /dev/sde  

After that I retried to create a file system ... with the same problem
