Plugin problem after Upgrade OMV 4->5

  • Hello, everyone,

I have just updated my OMV system from V. 4 to V. 5, following these instructions.

Almost everything works fine, but I am experiencing problems with two extensions: minidlna and fail2ban. While the second would be unnecessary for me, I would really like to get the first one working.

I have already tried to uninstall the two extensions and then reinstall them. Then I get the following error message in the web interface, (shown here for minidlna):

Several console tries with apt-get -f install, apt-get update were not successful.

omv-salt deploy run minidlna results in the following message:

I'd be grateful for any advice.

How do i get the 5.0.5. version?

Click the check button on the Updates tab and install it.

And the fail2ban plugin is still broken?

I don't know, is it? I maintain it but don't use it. I don't remember seeing a post or issue about it being broken. I know certain jails might be broken that users have configured but the plugin can't do much about that.

Thank you @ryecoaaron, minidlna could be installed beautifully now .

(Fail2ban is still broken, but as I said, it's not as crucial to me. Just in case you are interested, here is the error message when trying to install it:)

  • Hi @ryecoaaron

I've got the same problem while upgrading from minidlna 5.0.4 to 5.0.5 (I'm on OMV 5.5.9-1). It's still the "omv-salt deploy run minidlna" command in /var/lib/dpkg/info/openmediavault-minidlna.postinst which causes the trouble but, reading the php code, I coudn't see what/where to fix. Should I uninstall / reinstall the minidlna plugin? I'd appreciate some guideline.

    Thank you!

hould I uninstall / reinstall the minidlna plugin?

    I would.

I have the same error when installing the fail2ban plugin (

There might be an issue with the fail2ban plugin. I need to look at it.
