Want to install OMV 5 freshly, union filesystem question

    Hey everybody?

    So I want to do a fresh install of OMV, and upgrade at the same time. My question is, I have 2 4tb and I used union filesystem to pool the drives together, if I amount and unplug them and install omv, than put them back in in would I be able to access all the data again?

    I would be installing omv to a ssd. One more thing I would I make it so nothing would be written to the boot drive?

    First of all: you need backup. Always. It is not a question if you need a backup, only when.


    To be on the safe side, also disconnect the drive during installation.

    After installation you need to redo the configuration of OMV. This includes configuration of the unionfs plugin, creating shared, folder and users and so on.
