Why USB disks are not shown in a RAID configuration option?

  • Hi I've installed OMV in a raspberry PI with an Geekworm Raspberry Pi 4 NAS Dual SATA, X829 card, with two 2,5 hdd.

This Geekworm card is connected to the raspberry pi through the USB port.

Why can't I create a raid volume? The two discs don't appear on the available disks to create the RAID 1 volume I want to create.

Is there any option I forgot to apply?

  • The ability of using USB connected disks in a RAID in the OMV GUI was deprecated due to the practice causing too many problems.

It may still be possible to set this up by hand in the shell, bit I do not know for sure.

Google is your friend and Bob's your uncle!
