RockPro64 Armbian OMV5 Guide Question

  • I'm trying to get Armbian installed on my RockPro64 (previously running an Ayufan image of OMV4) using the guide provided from the Guides section of the OMV forums here.

A couple of things/oddities/observations regarding the guide as it is now:

    • I'm trying to install the Buster Server image as directed in the guide; kernel is 4.4
    • I've downloaded from multiple locations and the SHA Checksum never matches.
    • The guide suggests that the compressed file is a .7z containing the SHA file, but the Armbian download is actually a .xy and the SHA file needs to be downloaded separately...this makes me concerned the mismatch may simply be due to version non-parity (or that it has simply not been updated).
    • I don't see a Buster Minimal variant as has been suggested to others in this forum

Any thoughts or suggestions? The guide is adamant that "If Buster Server is not available, Buster Minimal should work.((Due to the potential for package conflicts, a Buster image with a desktop is not recommended or supported."

Has that changed at all? Armbian Focal is listed as the primary 'supported' option. Thanks for any insight!

The sha sum is for the extracted image not the 7z file

Here is the place to get the buster file. I don't think there is a desktop image for this board.

  • Sorry, to clarify: I was checking against the extracted image. I ended up downloading from the China repository and that download worked (even though the SHA also failed to match). Thanks!

Of course I had it backwards. It is actually the sha256sum of the xz file.

  • Ok that matches what i'm seeing from the SHA file itself, but when I download and extract the image and validate that I get:

    760BD8FA51316D07E875D5B8687E837C8C00070E68F44B8B413C76EC217C606B

Oh well. I ran with it and have gotten it to boot and stuff. Unfortunately I borked my install trying to change the storage directory for Docker so i'm starting from scratch.

    Thanks for your help.

BTW, your OMV5 install script is amazing!!!
