USB 3.0 card works in Ubuntu but not OMV

  • Hi Everyone - I am new to OMV and the Linux world in general.

I bought a usb 3.0 card to allow quicker backups to an external usb hard drive. My motherboard, Asrock 770 extreme3, has an onboard usb 3.0 port using a Fresco Logic FL1000g controller however it is known to be difficult to run in linux. So, I picked up a 7-Port USB 3.0 PCI-E Card KTU3FR-5O2U from Inatek. However, OMV is not recognizing it. To troubleshoot, I ran Ubuntu off a flash drive and the card is recognized and works fine! My understanding is that Ubuntu and OMV are both based on Debian and that any hardware that works on one should work on the other. Really frustrated that I have TWO usb 3.0 controllers that OMW can't seem to work with. Is there anything I can try to get one of these usb 3.0 ports/cards working on OMV, since at least one works in Ubuntu out of the box?

    Thanks in advance.
