Your configuration settings look good. Did you reboot the server after the change? Sometimes this could be necessary.
-
Yes. I reboot my server several times.
Thank for your response -
And I also assume, that your gateway address 192.168.1.254 (which often is the address of the Internet router) is correct?
From the OMV command line what is the response of ping 8.8.8.8?
-
192.168.1.254 is the gateway used by computers connected to the local network.
Ping 8.8.8.8 returns errors.
-
Sorry for my error.
The result :[...]
--- 8.8.8.8 ping statistics ---
61 packets transmitted, 61 received, 0% packet loss, time 163ms
-
--- 8.8.8.8 ping statistics ---
61 packets transmitted, 61 received, 0% packet loss, time 163ms
If you can ping the Google DNS server then your server has already internet access .

I don’t understand why I don’t have any more updates, that I can’t install plugins and that I no longer have access to Plex

Here is the error of installing a plugin :

Check your name resolution:
ping google.com
-
And if "google.com" cannot be resolved, I would add another DNS server like
1.0.0.1
1.1.1.1
and also the IP of the router
192.168.1.254,1.0.0.1
-

You have a DNS issue, check the two posts above.

Hi and thank you for your help.
I tested the ping 8.8.8.8. It works.
I tested ping google.com. This sends me the message: "Name or service unknown.
The address of my router is
192.168.1.254 because I can access it with this address.
I then applied these settings:
After rebooting the server, I can ping8.8.8.8, 1.0.0.1 and 192.168.1.254 but I still have the error message for google;
Thanks to you.

Strange DNS-Prob
Install dnsutils:
apt install dnsutils
run
dig google.com
run
dig @8.8.8.8 google.com
-
I cannot install dnsutils because it cannot access the Debian FTP.
-
Lol,
you're right. I remember, there was a problem...
Then use
Code
Alles anzeigennslookup > server 8.8.8.8 Default server: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 > google.com Server: 8.8.8.8 Address: 8.8.8.8#53 Non-authoritative answer: Name: google.com Address: 172.217.19.78 Name: google.com Address: 2a00:1450:4005:803::200e
and check your router:
-
Sorry I can’t use that code.
What is the procedure?
-
connect to your server via ssh
type nslookup
when the ">" appears, type "server 8.8.8.8"
when the ">" appears, type "google.com"
...
">" is the nslookup command-prompt
-
I am logged into SSH root via Putty.
When I do "nslookup" I get the message "command not found"
-
When I do "nslookup" I get the message "command not found"
I would say nslookup is a part of the dnsutils. Therefore you have to install them first. See post #15. Which is not possible as you have already mentioned => Deadlock.
