Problem possibly caused by automatic mounting of external HDD with NTFS?

  • Hello friends,

    I previously had an external Seagate 6 GB HDD connected through an USB3 type C marked under NTFS with the label BACKUP. It was replaced with a new one under warranty. When it was connected, a line was automatically generated containing /dev/ disk/by-label/Expansion in the File Systems section (see attachments). In order not to redo the configuration, I detached the drive and renamed the only partition to, as it was before. After attachment, a line appeared containing /dev/disk/by-label/BACHUP and this disk was able to be shared by changing the line in the Shared Folders section.

    However, after this clicking on the "Apply" button after the message: "The configuration has been changed. You must apply the changes in order for them to take effect", always causes the error:

    "Failed to execute command 'export PATH=/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin; export LANG=C.UTF-8; omv-salt deploy run --no-color fstab 2>&1' with exit code '1': debian: ---------- ID: create_filesystem_mountpoint_5fb802e1-baa2-424c-aaf3-e8038dcfa9de Function: file.accumulated Result: True Comment: Accumulator create_filesystem_mountpoint_5fb802e1-baa2-424c-aaf3-e8038dcfa9de for file /etc/fstab was charged by text Started: 10:30:41.608233 Duration: 1.348 ms Changes: ---------- ID: mount_filesystem_mountpoint_5fb802e1-baa2-424c-aaf3-e8038dcfa9de Function: mount.mounted Name: /srv/dev-disk-by-label-Expansion Result: False Comment: ntfs-3g: Failed to access volume '/dev/disk/by-label/Expansion': No such file or directory ntfs-3g 2017.3.23AR.3 integrated FUSE 28 - Third Generation NTFS Driver Configuration type 7, XATTRS are on, POSIX ACLS are on Copyright (C) 2005-2007 Yura Pakhuchiy Copyright (C) 2006-2009 Szabolcs Szakacsits Copyright (C) 2007-2017 Jean-Pierre Andre Copyright (C) 2009 Erik Larsson Usage: ntfs-3g [-o option[,...]] <device|image_file> <mount_point> Options: ro (read-only mount), windows_names, uid=, gid=, umask=, fmask=, dmask=, streams_interface=. I tried to delete the lines between # >>> [openmediavault] and # <<< [openmediavault] in /ets/fstab twice:

    # /etc/fstab: static file system information.

    #

    # Use 'blkid' to print the universally unique identifier for a

    # device; this may be used with UUID= as a more robust way to name devices

    # that works even if disks are added and removed. See fstab(5).

    #

    # <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>

    # / was on /dev/sda1 during installation

    UUID=6cfa4103-0dc6-4f4a-8963-ce9c1027b1bd / ext4 errors=remount-ro 0 1

    # swap was on /dev/sda5 during installation

    UUID=123fdb59-6731-49f8-ade4-5c32e07e0c9b none swap sw 0 0

    # >>> [openmediavault]

    /dev/disk/by-label/Expansion /srv/dev-disk-by-label-Expansion ntfs defaults,nofail 0 2

    /dev/disk/by-label/BACKUP /srv/dev-disk-by-label-BACKUP ntfs defaults,nofail 0 2

    # <<< [openmediavault]

    But it didn’t help, the lines were going backwards on restart OMV.

    How can I fix the error after clicking the "Apply" button?
