User > Edit > Public Keys not showing in SSH Certificate Rsync Job Dialogue

  • I have a raspberry pi running OMV version 5.5.17-3. Wishing to backup my media files from this to another pi, I am attempting to use rsync.

An ssh certificate has been created in the format

    ---- BEGIN SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ----

    FSJHKSHJDSHFKHFKHFKH

    SDSFSDFDSFSFSFSFSFSFF

    SFSDFFSDFSDFSFDSSDFD

    ---- END SSH2 PUBLIC KEY ----

and is now on both pis. I can SSH from Pi A to Pi B now with ssh pi@192.168.0.70 without being asked for a password.

This public key has been pasted into the User > Edit > Public Keys section of OMV for the one and only user.

However (here it comes, brace yourself) that key does not show up in the SSH Certificate field of the rsync job creation dialogue in OMV. There appears to be some attempt to search when I click on this field. But it returns nothing. I tried rebooting the pi as this is IT and 'switch it off then back on' is mandatory. :)

What am I doing wrong please?

    Many thanks for reading.

The rsync plugin runs rsync as root. So, it doesn't matter if you setup a cert for the pi user. Did you read this? Rsync two OMV machines

Please try ctrl-shift-R and read this before posting a question.

Please don't PM for support... Too many PMs!
