Configuration in web admin does nothing in /etc/ folder (ARM64/Buster)

  • Hello Everyone,

I installed OpenMediaVault on a Raspberry 3, with the ARM64 version of debian Buster (Kernel version 5.8.0-0.bpo.2-arm64). In order to make the webgui working correctly, I had to install some php packages and activate some others manually.

Now the Webgui is working correctly - more or less.

I tried to create a nfs share. Everything seems fines in the web interface. But when I look in the /etc/ directory, I can see that the file openmediavault/config.xml was modified, but not the exports file, which should contain directories exported with nfs.

I observed the same phenomena with FTP configuration (no change in /etc/proftpd/ directory), so I thing the problem is not specific to nfs.

Nonetheless, adding an user through the Webgui is working.

I don't see anything in the logs ( syslog, daemon.log) and the directory /var/log/openmediavault/ is empty.

Am I missing something? Can some of you help me?

    Regards,

  • ARM64 version of debian Buster (Kernel version 5.8.0-0.bpo.2-arm64)

I'd guess your one of the few users trying this "bleeding edge" version. It's unsupported by the raspberrypi foundation still.

    see https://www.raspberrypi.org/fo…2110&hilit=arm64#p1782110

    Good luck with it.

  • It's a debian - it's not the the Raspeberry Pi OS.

Concerning OpenMediaVault, the bug does not involve something linked to the hardware. There is no reason it should not work.
