I apparently can read a clock, just not a calendar
rsync doesn't have that time of execution drop down (on the plugin)... that makes more sense. I'm assuming the point would still stand though.. when the machine reboots, it's on about 10-20sec, checks it's scheduled jobs, see's it's still on 1 hour, and with minutes set to *, it thinks it's time to reboot again.

Which would make the most sense, as it would get stuck in the boot loop but an hour later i could log in fine,
i have set this for today
Mainly becuase the Dell Optiplex makes a very loud beep when it shuts down and starts up (dont really want to get woken up at 3AM by this, wife wasent to impressed last time :/)

Yep it got me on scheduling rsync jobs... I thought a job was running every 4hrs, turned out it was running over and over for 4hrs... thankfully when I checked the log the next day and saw there was almost 400 pages... I knew something was wrong.
I'm guessing that will fix your problem.

Yep worked like a charm, what would you recommend as a good restart schdule for a low/meduim use server? weelky? Monthly?

I've left mine running for as long as 2mo w/o issue. It was just on for about 40 days I think when a storm knocked out my power for a few hours... looking now it's been up for about 3 days. It's just not something I concern myself with.

True i guess, i have set up notifications on OMV to tell me if there is a problem, and machine make a loud noise when it shutsdown, starts up or has a boot problem so i guess i could just leave the reboot to once a year or not at all.

After a Kernel update.

If you're living in a "Windows world", you're probably used to having to do that "maintenance restart" to keep things running well. I don't have Windows anywhere here. Looking at the laptop I'm on, it's been up about 12 and honestly I can't recall why I rebooted it then.
On the other hand, at work I reboot the Windows computer at my station as soon as I walk in.. let all the STD prevention apps to load, then get to work.
