OMV 5.0 mount problems after update from 5.5.21 to 5.5.23-1

  • Hello!) After update Jmicron firmware I didn't find two drives, so I add code to /lib/udev/rules.d/60-persistent-storage.rules & drives shows up, but now I can't mount from WebUI. OMV shows an error.

  • Hi, recently fixes got release to address issues with Jmicron chipset based devices. Did you already upgrade to OMV 5.5.23?

    the issue is most likely:

    openmediavault (5.5.22-1) stable; urgency=low
    * Fixing package management issue with new UDEV rules. The old
file was not removed automatically. Because of that please notice
the information about the new UDEV rules in 5.5.21.

omv 6.9.6-2 (Shaitan) on RPi CM4/4GB with 64bit Kernel 6.1.21-v8+

2x 6TB 3.5'' HDDs (CMR) formatted with ext4 via 2port PCIe SATA card with ASM1061R chipset providing hardware supported RAID1

omv 6.9.3-1 (Shaitan) on RPi4/4GB with 32bit Kernel 5.10.63 and WittyPi 3 V2 RTC HAT

    2x 3TB 3.5'' HDDs (CMR) formatted with ext4 in Icy Box IB-RD3662-C31 / hardware supported RAID1

Hi! Yeap, my version is 5.5.23-1. I don't use RAID and SMB shares, only NFS

Changed the title of the thread from “OMV 5.0 mount problems after update Jmicron firmware” to “OMV 5.0 mount problems after update from 5.5.21 to 5.5.23-1”.
  • Any thoughts? Reinstall OMV?(( Delete drives via fdisk and erase fstab OMV settings?

    Reinstall OMV?

Always possible, Not need to do anything with the data drives. Just mount the drives and create shared folders pointing at the existing folders on the data drives.

Before doing that you can try to edit

    /etc/openmediavault/config.xml

and remove every reference to the shared folders on the drives.
