Can you show a screen shot?
You might try to pull something else and see if the same thing happens.

mariadb:latest
It's missing one important section, whos image i.e. linuxserver/mariadb:latest the error is related to fact that it doesn't know whos image to pull

I've just done that on my machine and it's downloaded, do you have DNS set for your network interface
-
I had Obtain DNS server address automatically configured on my wi-fi adapter. I changed it to Open DNS: preferred 208.67.222.222 and alternate 208.67.220.220, then flushed the DNS cache. Still got same problem.

DNS entry in OMV System -> Network -> Interfaces

I am running a headless raspberry pi from my Windows PC. The DNS changes I made are to the network adapter on the PC. It occurs to me that the DNS changes should be made on the ethernet connector on the pi or on the router.

Happened to me with Owncloud's container.
You have to create an account on https://hub.docker.com, then log in on your OMV with putty as root and digit:
docker login
Presse enter and, if all works correctly, you need to insert user and pass.
When done, try to deploy the container.
EDIT: If, after "docker login" you see some error instead of the prompt for user and pass, you have to do this:First: From putty as root: apt remove docker-compose
Second: apt remove golang-docker-credential-helpers
Then, try docker login another time.If works, type the credentials then: apt install docker-compose
Now try to deploy the container; should work. -

I have seen this mentioned doing a search, but I don't have a docker account and have had no problems pulling any image

Same for me, until the Owncloud's deploy some days ago; when i pulled the images from "webhippie" (webhippie/mariadb:latest and webhippie/redis:latest) they gave me this error.

In your DNS servers try 8.8.8.8
-
Works with cli sudo image pull linuxserver/mariadb:latest works. So does sudo image pull ubuntu:latest Seems to be a root problem with Portainer.

No but I've just clicked, try pulling the image without the tag, just linuxserver/mariadb

I don't see how as it should be docker pull <image name>
-
Your right of course. I did type "docker image pull linuxserver/mariadb:latest". Tried portainer pull image file without tag and it still failed. I log in to Putty as user "pi", to OMV as user "admin" and to Portainer as user "admin". I don't know if this is relevant.
