Install a second network card

  • Since my Asrock board is equipped with an Atheros network card and does not support WOL, I wanted to ask whether it is possible to install a second network card?

As I am a Linux novice, I would be very happy to receive help. I think that after the installation, drivers still have to be installed.

Is there a guide (step by step is best)?

Which card would you recommend for the current OMV 5?

    Thanks in advanced

  • Hard to go wrong with an Intel NIC. Most popular and good quality cards have their drivers already in the kernel. I would seriously avoid any noname cheap cards altogether.

I have used a couple of those for years and they are great.
