**CrashPlan: Using it to backup client machines**

  • German

    And working so far. The backup Files or Files/Folders(content), things i mark to backup, all land onto my Server but all this stuff is interpreted in CrashPlans own "literary"....

  • any idea why my crashplan seems to be listening on ipv6 and not v4 ??
    i don't have ipv6 enabled ...

    Code
    netstat -na | grep LISTEN | grep 42

    Code
    tcp6 0 0 :::4242 :::* LISTEN
    tcp6 0 0 127.0.0.1:4243 :::* LISTEN

  • Crashplan changed the way it communicates with the headless server.

    You now have to add the servers security key to C:\ProgramData\CrashPlan\.ui_info (Backup first)
    The security key is found in /var/lib/crashplan/.ui_info

    The format is: port,key,destination
    If you change the "127.0.0.1" to your servers ip adress, you can communicate with the headless server without the ssh tunnel.

    Maybe you have to change the serviceHost in /usr/local/crashplan/conf/my.service.xml to 0.0.0.0 first.
