need help with notification ->postfix: ... connection refused

    I would like to ask for some help of experts of the OMV notification system.

    Situation is as follows.

    Im running an OMV 4.1.36-1, mainly as an SMB-server.

    I have set the notification, so that email has been sent to an external mailbox. I have received 3-5 mail per day approximately.

    The setting ist almost 2 years old and has been working until 5-th of April. On that date, I have received the last mail form OMV.

    Since than the mails stuck in the queue.

    Searching /var/log/mail.info, I can see this:

    I have tried to use another email-adress hosted by another provider, same result:

    Becauso of the fact, that the mail-delivery worked until 5-th of April and I havn't changed anything at all at the system, I have had the suspicion, that my IP-adress, which I get a new one every night from my provider, is blacklisted somewhere. My current adress is 92.117.46.187.

    What confuses me is the fact, that the mailboxes above can be reached and used form my desktop out of Thundebird without problems. Testmails can be sent and are received.


    Can anyone give me an advice or has a clue what I can do or test to solve this problem?

    It appears that your IP is blacklisted by one of the more popular blacklisting sites. (More info.) The reason appears to be a policy based block for "unauthenticated" e-mail.

    Another explanation: Perhaps your mail provider switched to secured ports? SMTP secured is on port 587. The legacy port is 23.
