Hi,
the beginner's guide tells me 'Openmediavault is designed to separate the Operating System (the boot drive) from data storage. This is “best practice” when setting up a server. Accordingly, openmediavault reserves the drive it is installed on exclusively for the OS. By default, the GUI will not allow the boot drive to be selected when creating a data share. A second hard drive or SSD is required for data storage.'
After I've installed it on the one and only drive I ever plan to have in the machine, it's too late to find this out.
is it possible to install on a single drive? I probably made the single biggest noob mistake. In fact, such an obvious mistake that I'm stunned I can't find an article on it.
I can see why only having a single drive is inadvisable, but I only want to try out the product.
How can I either
- get access to the OS drive to share it
- resize it and add a sharing partition
- reinstall it on a single drive system
Can you help, please?
