Well, I guess that is what VirtualBox is for. I'll try it there first. Like I said, The last time I pulled that stunt it went up in a cloud of smoke. Hopefully I know a few more tricks now. We'll see.
Soma has a value something like 35000. Do you (you'al) mean you change the default port of OMV in the General tab from 80 to something else?
Like KM0201 already replied, it's just a way to go out of the standard.
Ever since the (long) days of eMule and eDonkey that I started using 5 digits ports and I'm used to it.
With such a high number (I feel that), a port sniffer will have to run for a long time before it finds the port you're using.
Of course, running the way we're running OMV, the 2 open ports are the most standard one's (80 and 443) but that's where SWAG comes in play.
And I'm yet to try and block port 80 due to use the duckdns validation.
According to SWAG documentation, you only need port 80, if you use http validation.
If all goes well, the only port that will remain open in the router will be 443 and my other port for Wireguard (just in case SWAG crashes and I need SSH the server's)

I'm currently using Nginx Proxy Manager for my micro services.
It has similar function like Lets Encrypt.

Swag is basically Letsencrypt. There was a legal issue over the name so Linuxserver just renamed it. In the following months since rebranding they have made a few changes, but it is basically the same.
I'm going to stick with NPM; it has a nice Web GUI.

The host should matter very little to docker and containers (unless you change architecture). Provided you can install docker , docker-compose and set a container path.. the rest is pretty much the same.
You know.. now I'm curious. I'm feeling a weekend project coming along w/ Fedora Server 35 and a virtual machine (Haven't used Fedora in a long time, so it will be entertaining)
