Hi
I want to move from OMV 4 to OMV6 later this year, but I urgently need to migrate some VirtualBoxes to the new set up.
I understand that VB won’t be available in Debian 11.
My plan is to plan switching from VB to KVM, so I should familiarize myself with KVM.
Any reason not to plan that way?

Nope that works fine but you should move to OMV 5 first. Virtualbox isn't available on Debian 10 either.

My plan is to start with a clean new OMV6 on a fresh Debian once out.
Any reason not to do that?
OMV6 is alpha. If you want to do like this, wait until OMV6 is stable which might take several month. There is no scheduled release date.

I've installed OMV 6 alpha on a newly build NAS, very happy so far, no big problems and it has been very stable. But it's lacking in plugins and still in alpha mode, so things can happen. As long as it supports docker I'm happy, so I'll wait for some more plugins even if it takes months
