Install amule in OMV

  • Okay. If no one can help with this I will leave it at that. I just hope the system doesn't break ...

    When I have a while I will give more details of the process in case someone wants to do this installation.

    The best thanks to the help provided is to report what your solution was. The next one will thank you :thumbup:

  • please consider to use mldonkey instead amule, is several times more stable and use less resources.

    Finally I tested well mldonkey with sancho. It really works better than amule. You are absolutely right Raúl, thanks for insisting.

    I think that here I end my love relationship with emule / amule. I liked the amule better for its simplicity, but I surrender to the evidence. There is a relatively significant initial time to spend learning how to set up MLDonkey, too many options and complications, but it's worth it.

    By the way, the link you posted from sancho with the java version is critical.

    Thanks again. :thumbup::thumbup:

    If there is still someone interested in installing amule ask here and I will post the details. I finally solved the problems and it can be done. But it's not worth it, MLDonkey is better.

  • Good to hear. Time to put the Synology out to pasture.. or as I like to say about my old electronics, "Take it to the range".. as all of my electronics typically meet a 12ga or .223 demise. Remember the scene in Office Space where they destroyed the fax machine? It's kinda like that, but w/ ammo. It's pretty therapeutic if it's something that has frustrated you for a while...so I really related to that scene.. :)

    Glad you got it working to your satisfaction.

    Air Conditioners are a lot like PC's... They work great until you open Windows.

    I think I won't be so drastic ...^^ but yes, the synology is already parked definitely.
