Can you describe a bit more what you did? How did you install the OS and OMV?
-
I used balena etcher to burn the iso on to my SD card. Then I used this how to: Installing OMV5 on Raspberry PI's, Armbian SBC's, & i386 32-bit platforms
The installation went on for about 2 or 3 hours and my SSH (via putty) stopped responding when completed I think. Went via chrome on my windows 10 computer and logged in to o v through web GUI.

Did you check the SD card with f3 or H2testw?
What exactly did you burn on the SD card?
Should be the Raspberry Pi OS Lite from here: https://www.raspberrypi.org/software/operating-systems/

I did all those things you said and I used the image from raspberrypi.org.

I would do a fresh install and run the install script for omv in a screen session. So if you loose connection you can reconnect and read the output.

I´ll try that.

Ok, now I have done a fresh install. Started about 3.5 hours ago and the installation is not yet finished. See attachment for more. What's wrong?
After a long time it seems like the rpi has rebooted and I can log in to omv. Same issue still, I cant make any changes in the webgui, the apply configuration changes pop-up just keep going and after quite a while it flashes a black ribbon with red text in the webbrowser.

Very strange what is happening. Maybe another approach might help because it is still unclear why?
Install of OS should take about 3-5 minutes. If it takes longer then there is definitely something wrong (card?, computer?). If you do the same steps over and over you might get the same 'mistake'. So that is why I suggest another approach, we have the same computer.
Use the Raspberry Pi Imager, install 'Raspberry Pi OS Lite 32 bit' onto SDHC card. Check at the end if a named 'boot' disk appears in your Explorer (if on Windows), put ssh file on card (as described in OMV wiki. Safely remove card, install on pi (no disks attached or other 'things'), get into ssh. (apt update/upgrade, reboot - see Wiki). Does your card boot and are you able to get into SSH?
As far as I am concerned: most important steps are PI OS Lite, SSH and The Script. I have done many trial and error installs You learn the most out of it, so keep up!
If yes (able to get into SSH, you probably will), continue, use install-script (see wiki), do not close the SSH screen. Install should take 3-5 minutes.
Does the same thing happens again? Long waiting time? Did you try to use another SDHC?

Try another installation procedure, this worked for me

Looks to me as if it is the same. It is also using the script.
