Hi, I'm using OMV 5 installed on single SSD, and havein a separate DATA drive for media. On that DATA drive i also have a config folder where it contains all config subfolders for my docker conatiners plex etc... My question is there a guide how can easily replace the DATA drive with a bigger one? Can i remove it, clone it with something on other device and put back cloned bigger drive in the OMV machine?
How can easily swap a hard drive with a larger one?

Yes. Clone it with Clonezilla. But you can only have one of the two drives in the machine as they are identical for OMV.
https://clonezilla.org/show-li…doc/03_Disk_to_disk_clone
If you want to add the old drive, you need to wipe it and create a new filesystem. Then you can mount it etc.

Perfect, thanks I will clone it using live USB!

If you clone a drive, the clone drive (even if it's bigger in size), will have the same size as the cloned one.
You will have to resize the partition after.
I think it's possible on the OMV gui.
Never tried it. Only via CLI.

Gparted can clone a drive and automatically expand the clone to the full size of the target drive.

Expanding a partition works in the GUI. I've used it before.

Ok, I cloned with clonzila and it worked but as noted the new partition has the same size. How can I easily resize it? The gui option in Storage->File system does not do anything... IT asks me to confirm and thats all..

You can use gparted. Either install and boot from OMV extras or use any live distro lwith gparted ike systemrescuecd

Isn't that only for RAID after adding drives?

I just finished testing the single disk scenario and,,, it appears that you're right. The partition did not resize.

It appears that you'll have to use Gparted from a bootable CD or Thumbdrive. (I haven't tried installing Gparted in OMV and remoteing into it from a client.)
