I have an installed OMV and working.
I use 5 disks in RAID 5 with LSI00202 Megaraid SAS 9260-8i
I want to move this configuration to a local workstation.
Is this possible? Or I need to reformat the drives and start from scratch.
Thanks

Could you please explain, what you are about to do?
- Move the drives to a different computer?
- Copy the files to another computer?
- Migrate OMV to another computer?
If you are using hardware RAID, you will need to move the controller together with the drives.

Exactly.
Move the same configuration, including the card to another PC, without the OMV boot drive
Unfortunately this is not possible.
You have to move controller and drives, set up a fresh OMV and redo the configuration. You will not loose the files.
One option might be to take a backup of the system drive and restore it an the other computer. This will keep the configs.
Depending on how much you configured one or the other is easier.
Hint, if you redo the config, use the old one and take notes.
I see...
So when I move the controller + HDDs and turn on the PC, I won't be able to access the files?
The thing is that the new PC already has an OS installed (Windows 10)
It depends, if by chance you have formatted the drives with NTFS or installed a windows driver for the Linux filesystem you might be lucky.
I would stop here, swap the drives and if it does t work (it likely does not) restore from your backup.
It would be a good idea if OMV had a plugin that would allow to use a setup from one pc on another

I also like that idea. It would also serve as a pseudo-backup of OMV.
It only takes a programmer willing to develop that plugin. Unfortunately, this type of help is not routinely offered.
I have no idea. I don't know how to program, I would like to
I already know that if it were easy it would be implemented years ago, that's why I say that help would be needed, right now we have enough to thank OMV6 and that the current complements are being carried little by little.
I just imagine something similar to what Synology does (I have had a synology server many years before I got here).
The idea is if you could do a clean install and apply the saved settings automatically, you would have your system up and running again in a while. As an idea it seems fabulous. How to do it? I wish I knew how to do it. It would already be done.
