Today's update to 6.0.7-1 is causing some problems. Although GUI sees disks, I cannot see or select File Systems to mount. I have to mount manually. For the moment, that is the only issue I see.

And now... I can no longer send files to my shared folders... Oh boy. I have set all permissions to R/W, but now client computers indicate "Unix/Root" needs to provide permission... What happened with the update?

I gave up and reinstalled.... I can't get OMV 5, only OMV 6, so I am not sure whether it's a stability problem or user... Probably user...
-
I assume you are installing on a raspberry or similar. Installing debian 10 buster will install OMV5. Installing debian 11 bullseye will install OMV6.

It's actually "Bullseye" - the lite version - which is the version installed using the Raspberry Pi Imager.
I believe I am finding another problem...
I am using this connection to access a Plex Server. When Plex installs, though, it removes my "write" access to my shared folders. I am unable to turn "write" back on. Apparently, I won't be able to use Plex on these versions.

Any way to override and install OMV5 directly?
-
Now, I can't delete shared folders from the GUI... I think this is beyond my IT capabilities. I'll have to wait until OMV6 is stable.

I do not understand this. Lots of people use Plex. What does this mean?

If you want to install OMV5 you just need to download a debian 10 image from armbian. The OMV install script will install OMV5 when it detects this version of debian.

Why not? how are you doing?

I also do not understand it. However, when I installed Plex, the "w's" for my shared folders would disappear.
I downloaded debian 10 - the legacy Raspian Lite OS and it installed OMV5.
GUI would not allow me to select the delete button when I highlighted the share.

Publish your stack/yml Plex.

To delete a shared folder there can be no service pointing to that folder. Samba, NFS, rsync, ....

Apologies for my "Nooby-Ness," but I don't know what "stack/yml" is. No worries, though, I have reloaded to Debian 10, and reinstalled Plex, and things seem to be working again.
Oh, and yes, I did have all services turn-off.

How did you install Plex? With docker or otherwise ...?

Disabled services is not enough. No service should be configured pointing to a shared folder if you want to delete it.

I installed Plex using CLI - no Docker.

That is a mistake, you must install Plex on docker.

[How to] Prepare OMV to install docker applications
I don't know if you can uninstall Plex and fix it. Where did you get the idea to install Plex on CLI?

Well, since I am such a NOOB, I don't know if the commands found here: https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-plex-server/ install within Docker. I just typed commands as per the page, and Voila, it's working - on OMV5.

This tutorial is intended to install Plex on Raspbian. It does not take into account the existence of OMV.
What you have done is install Plex together with OMV on the Debian host. What is recommended in this forum is to use OMV plugins or docker installations. If there is no choice, you can install an application on the host, but only if you know what you are doing.
I really don't know if installing Plex on the host can be dangerous or not, others will be able to tell you.

Ok... I missed that step. It's obvious I don't know what I'm doing.
Where can I find in the Forum (or elsewhere) how to install Docker as a prerequisite for installing Plex?
-
Installation, maintenance, and upgrading would be much easier using docker. Question is what kind of Raspian do you have OMV installed on, desktop or lite? You should not have a desktop with OMV.
There is a bit of a learning curve with Docker but there is lots of help on the Guides section of the forum. Your effort will be rewarded. You won’t be sorry.

You have it in post 14 of this thread

I have Raspbian 10 Lite version installed. Thanks for the encouragement to learn Docker. I suppose I just need to get the nerve - and instructions - to uninstall Plex...
