I am trying to add a brand-new 16TB disk. I see it at Storage | Disks and can Wipe it. When I try to Create the volume at Storage | File Systems it is not available in the dropdown selector.
How do I add this new drive?

What is the output of: wipefs /dev/sda
I just added an 18TB drive to my system. So, it isn't the size causing the problem.
Hmmmm
I now get this at Storage | Disks when I Wipe it.

You don't need to wipe it again. Does it show up to Create a new filesystem now?
It did, but I think so only because I did something different while selecting. I touched the label "Device *" then it turned red and said, "This field is required." and the dropdown menu worked. Touching the label "Device *" is not intuitive.
Thanks

I'm not sure what "select *" means. Dropping the dropdown populates it. I would be interested to see what you were trying each time in a video.
"select" was a typo I corrected to "device"

Device is the label of the dropdown. Nothing can be preselected because there is no default for creating a new filesystem. How could this be made more intuitive? I am a little confused why it doesn't show the placeholder - https://github.com/openmediava…orm-page.component.ts#L33 Maybe votdev can explain?

Is there a way to skip the need to touching the label? As it could be an assumption, being the only reason for being at that page.

I can get the drop to populate and dropdown by clicking anywhere slightly above the line including the arrow on the far right. The label just happens to be in that zone and is clickable. Don't you have this experience with all dropdowns in the omv 6 web interface that don't have a default preselected?

I can't, but it seems to be a bug in the Materuial framework. It worked some time ago, that is for sure.

Fixed with https://github.com/openmediava…63e47ef642e46055b1f6698fb. It seems this has been changed from one major version to another.
