Please see screenshot attached. I have a OMV 5.6.18-2 working great in all regards. I have multiple computers connected to SMB, and all works like a charm.
Chromeos does have SMB service built in, but I cannot get chromebooks connected to my OMV SMB shares. Please see the screenshot attached. I keep getting error:
"Error mounting share. Please check your credentials and try again"
So I am 100% sure that my credentials are correct, my URL is correct (chromeos actually correctly discovered my share). I have used hostname and ip address of OMV server. I have connected to this SMB server many, many times. I set up new connections today just to test, and everything is working. The only issue is chromeos. Has anyone found a way to get chromeos to connect to an OMV SMB share?
Thank you for your time!

I had this issue too. I'd been trying to mount the share when logged in to Chrome OS with a Workspace account (which I think includes any corporate or educational organization accounts). I tried mounting it from my personal account (which is the one I used for initially setting up the Chromebook, FWIW) and it worked.
The root cause is that the effective value for the NTLMShareAuthenticationEnabled policy was "off". The linked page says that the default is "off" for managed users and "on" for other users.
I am the Workspace administrator, so I just went into the management menu to change the policy for my account. I'm not sure whether the concept of managed vs. other users exists for non-organization-based accounts, but I suggest trying whatever you can to flip this bit. If you aren't already trying this from a personal account, try that.
